You're in the guide for the web version of Pocketbook. This can only be done on the web version.
------------------------
You can edit your created categories via the Category Setup page. This allows you to rename, delete and move your categories.
Note: We have not yet implemented this for default categories. This only applies to your created categories.
To edit your categories.
- Go to the Setup page.
- In the left-hand menu bar, select Category Settings This takes you to the Setup Categories page.
- Find your created categories under the heading User Categories.
- Note the three buttons on the right-hand side of each category name.
- The
Pen Icon allows you to rename the category
- The
Trash Can Icon allows you to delete the category. The transactions in the category will then be Uncategorised
- The
Arrows Icon allows you to move the category to another category, reassigning it.

Hi there, will you be allowed to delete the default categories moving forward?
I currently use YNAB and it has helped a lot. Pocketbook however has real time syncing and a very nice UI. Instead of manually needing to input things the idea of just assigning it a category as it pops up sounds fantastic.
However managing and being able to budget per my own categories is also a necessity. Even things such as having rolling budgets is a bit of a must have. For example, per month I put money in a "car" category. It will build up and roll over into next months pool, until the day I have a car emergency and need it. That way, it doesn't catch me by surprise.
Do you expect to implement something like that?
